FlickrFriend 1.01 released
This is just a small bugfix release.
Bug fixed which would cause the description of a picture to be deleted, whenever a title was updated in iPhoto.

I have been using FlckrFriend for a while now, but today when up loading a photo even from my iphoto (mac) it keep uploading the same photos again and again and again… i don’t now hoe to fix can you please help.
I’m fed up with iPhoto breaking the link to Flickr. If it weren’t for that Apple’s integration would suit me well. Still, it basically doesn’t work (it keeps syncing back duplicates into iPhoto…)
So I’m looking at alternatives, and that’s how I found FlickrFriend. It looks good.
Can FlickrFriend sync just a subset of my iPhoto albums with Flickr? Does sync work both ways, so if I add a tag, geotag or description on Flickr that will be pulled back into iPhoto?
Hi One-Ten.
You can limit FlickrFriend to a subset, but maybe not in the most straightforward way. You have to use the “exclude album” feature. Any photo which is part of this album is NOT uploaded.
Luckily this album can be an iPhoto smartalbum which gives you a lot of flexibility.
Sync is only one way.
If you add a tag or description on Flickr.com it will not get pulled back into iPhoto.
Best regards,
Jacob
Cool, thanks for the response.
So if I create smart album “Album X” and exclude everything but what is in “Album A”, clearly “Album A” will be synced, and if “Album B” contains a strict subset of “Album A” photos, presumably it will be too. But what happens to “Album C” which contains some photos from “Album A” and some from “Album X”. Does it get excluded (which is what I’m hoping for) or does it get included but contain only the photos which are in the intersection of “Album A” and “Album C”?
Hi again. You got me a little confused there…
What I can say is that FlickrFriend will exclude all photos which are in Album X. Those photos which are not in Album X will get uploaded and be made part of whatever sets they are part of in iPhoto.
So in re-reading your question, I would say that you would probably not get what you want as Album C will be created on Flickr, containing the photos which are part of Album A.
Best regards,
Jacob
